What we remove

A piano is heavy, delicate and hard to maneuver. We remove:

• Upright and spinet pianos
• Baby grand and grand pianos
• Digital pianos and stage keyboards
• Piano benches and stools
• Old organs and similar bulky instruments
• Pianos from basements, upper floors and tight stairwells

Pianos can weigh several hundred pounds, so our movers work as a team. If you are clearing out a whole home, see our house cleanout service, or for other bulky items, our furniture removal page.

How it works

1. Request a quote. Call (514) 295-2123, fill in the form on our remove your junk page or send photos. Tell us the type of piano, the floor it is on and how to reach it.
2. Confirm the price. We estimate the job and confirm a price free of charge before pickup.
3. Pickup. Our movers arrive in the agreed window, carry the piano out and load the truck.
4. Recycle or donate. We prioritize donation and recycling when possible, since a piano in good condition may be reusable.

Areas we serve

We remove pianos across the island of Montreal, including the Plateau-Mont-Royal, Rosemont, Outremont, Westmount, Verdun, NDG and Saint-Laurent. Older buildings with narrow stairs are common jobs. We also serve Laval, the North Shore (Terrebonne, Repentigny, Blainville, Boisbriand) and the South Shore (Longueuil, Brossard, Saint-Lambert, Boucherville), within about 80 km of Montreal. Call us to confirm your address. Our crews work 7 days a week from 8:00 to 20:00, so you can pick a morning, afternoon or early evening window that suits you.

Pricing

Piano removal starts at $150 CAD. The final price depends on volume, and we confirm it with a free quote before pickup, so you know the amount before anything is loaded. An upright piano is typically a smaller job than a grand, and stairs add effort, so tell us what you have and send photos. Because the quote is free and confirmed before pickup, you can compare it and decide without pressure, and you pay for what is actually being removed. See our rates page for more details.

Parting with a piano: donate, sell or dispose

Think about the options before you book removal.

• Sell or donate: a piano in good condition may be wanted by a school, church or family. Mention it when you call.
• Recycle: wood, metal and strings are sorted for recycling when possible.
• Dispose: pianos that are damaged beyond use go to proper disposal.

Clear the path from the piano to the door, remove items on top and close the lid and the keyboard cover. Tell us about stairs, landings and tight turns, and whether there is an elevator. Measure doorways if the piano must pass through a narrow opening. Common mistakes include asking friends to carry it, which risks injury, and not mentioning a third-floor walk-up. Industrial waste is not accepted.

Many pianos end up unwanted after a move, an inheritance or a children’s lessons period that has ended. Tuning and moving costs make them hard to keep, and they are among the most difficult household items to carry. We come to your home, assess the access and move the piano out with a team, so you do not risk injury or damage to your floors and walls. When you request a quote, tell us the type and approximate size of the piano, the floor it is on and how many stairs there are. Photos of the piano and the stairwell help us confirm the price for free before pickup. Same-day service is often available, but pianos are best booked a little in advance. If you are not sure whether a piano can be moved safely, send photos and we will tell you what to expect. Very old or damaged pianos are often easier to remove than to repair, and having the space back can be a relief. Please let us know about any steep outdoor stairs or ice in winter, since access matters for safety.
